Michael (Mike) Flynn

Good afternoon Anne and family,
Joan and I are shocked and saddened to read of Mike's passing. I met Mike in the early 1960s when your family returned from New Jersey and he came to work at Cahill and company in Parkgate St. Dublin, where I was apprenticed to the fitting trade. Mike was an extremely good influence on those he rubbed shoulders with. Especially me. He coached me in personal and business matters and encouraged me to continue with my studies at engineering school. He explained the necessity for a charitable understanding in interactions with those in less fortunate circumstances. His creed was family, fairness and honesty above all. When in Ireland we visited with you both in the afternoon hours which gave Joan and opportunity to meet you and Mike. Thank you.
Mike was a gentle and generous soul who was greatly respected in life and he will now be sadly missed by all who knew him. His quick wit and sensitive deportment made him a beacon of humour and good grace in a sometimes caustic environment. He was a positive influence on everyone with whom he interacted and he is now reaping his eternal reward in heaven. May he rest in peace.
