Michael (Mike) SCANLAN

We were a Team? Yes! But we were more a family. Long busy services, shouting ' service' in the kitchen and everyone around you ready to take the food out. It was stressful sometimes but fun and we managed every situation at best. You will be missed my friend. Your smile, your lateness (sometimes LOL) and hugs at the end of the busiest shifts. It won't be the same that kitchen without you. With love, Rest in peace my friend. I send my love to your family and relatives and I wish them to find the strength to overcome this hard moment that nobody expected.

Dave, Linda, to Mike’s parents Senan and Rachel, to his sisters Gillian and Emma and to all the family and Mike’s beloved friends - my deepest sympathy again. That was a beautiful send off for Mike and a beautiful celebration of his life.

Dave, I always said to know you is to know Mike and to know how proud of him you are and always have been. Your eulogy was so lovely and I can imagine Mike chatting with Diego. You spoke of his smile, incredible career, sense of humour and caring nature for his family, friends and colleagues. This is an incredible quality.

I know what a close family you are and the annual trips to Co.Clare. The celebration of his life was beautiful from the offertory, readings, singing and eulogy. I know I clapped after the eulogy Dave as I am sure we all did. You just couldn’t hear us so I wanted to write this to let you know the support you have.

To Mike’s friends, it sounds like you all have great memories to cherish. I hope these are a comfort to you. This must be so difficult and Dave has told me how heartbroken you all are.

To Mike’s colleagues, so sorry for you all. It is clear Mike cared for you all so very much.

To Mike’s family, you have done Mike proud with a beautiful send off. I am so very sorry for your loss. Mike leaves behind an amazing legacy. May he rest in peace. May God shelter you and God bless each and every one of you.
