We in the bowling community are saddened by Micheal's death and send condolences to Noelle and Brian and to all his brothers, sisters and extended family.
When I first met him, 13 years ago, in the bowling club, he helped me get to grips with the game and many others also got similar attention from him too. He was an exceptionally good bowler and put in a lot of work into Salthill Club over more than two decades. His great sense of humour was always evident and more than compensated for any arguments we had. He was a great organiser of outings and social events and entertained us all with stories. His good traits were admirable. His resilience, despite age and his health issues, was an example to us all.

There was never any doubt that he was an Athleague and Roscommon man. I am glad he is now "going home" Rest in Peace Mike!

Mikey will be very missed. We have the best memories of his liveliness and generous heart. I remember him taking me to Connemara for my birthday and having me over for the night and it was one of my fondest memories to this day. It was our pleasure to have him and Clair over to our home many years ago and will never forget the lovely time we had. He was a truly wonderful to know and one of the best uncles you could ask for.
