Mockey was remarkable as a brillant technician~ as a leader and as a person as everybody who had the great privilage of working wirh him knew

Artificer/Armourer of exceptional quality, and an ‘old school’ CS who ran the workshop knowing he knew more about his craft than the team : attention to detail is a dying art: Mocky had in spades. It is fair to say he was one of a kind and it was a pleasure to serve with him. Condolences to his family 🙏

We would like to offer our sympathy to the Nolan family on the passing of Mockey . May he Rest in Pease .

It was with great sadness I learned of the passing of Michael "Mockey". Mockey was a graduate of number two platoon, Army Apprentice School Naas, from 1957 to 1960.He spent nearly all of his technical careere with the ordnance corps, based in the Garrison workshops on the curragh.In 1977, I was posted to the same workshops, and on arrival I was told by the commanding officer to " shadow Sgt Mick Nolan and to Look,Listen, and Learn" Mockey was a super mentor and he was responsable with others for the maintaince and repairs of every weapon in the curragh command. A highly skilled tradesman that passed on his indepth knowledge to us " young blades" fresh out of Naas and the Ordnance School. Someone once said " The impact of a great mentor is measured not just by what they acheive,but by the acheivements of those they inspired" such was the man Mockey Nolan was. To his daughter Debbie,son Barry, brother Jackie, sister Bernadette.The Brady Family offer our sincerest condolences.May Michaels kind soul rest in eternal peace.

On day we admitted our Mammy to Mount Pleasant,Micheal was the first person we spoke to he told us of his dogs and his Daughter his smile and his sense of humour made a tough day a little easier and has done for the past couple of years.We will miss our chats and jokes.
