We had the honour to share a table with both of you at a celebration in Galway only 3 years ago, a precious memory.

I met Michael at Blackrock.He was an absolute gentleman and many a nice chat we had over the years.My abiding memories of him are him jogging over and back on the beach after his swim and his lovely singing at the various parties we had at the tower.

Very sorry to hear of the death of Michael. He was fondly known in Blackrock as "Michael two swims". A swim, a run on the beach, followed by a hot drink from the flask, conversations with everyone and sometimes the radio playing in the background listening to a match. Then when he was warm enough he would repeat the process before heading back to Claremorris. Michael was always there on a Sunday, smile on his face. He will be missed.
