Mick always traveled out at weekends with his guitar on his back, to meet up with his many friends ending a night with laughter and song, thanks for the memories Mick. Rest in peace now.

Sincere condolences to Bryan, Martina, Miriam and extended O’Donovan family on the passing of Michael. I will fondly remember our chats about Irish history, my Spanish “tutorials”, and his dry sense of humour. Rest in peace Michael.
I’m saddened to read about Michael’s sudden death… I have not seen him in a long time, but would meet him & always have a quick chat with him whenever I was in the South County… I suppose, he could be described as one ‘of the Sth County’ characters…. May his soul rest in peace…
Our deepest heartfelt condolences to Bryan, Martina, Miriam and the extended O’Donovan family on the very sad passing of your beloved Michael RIP.
Michael was our dear friend, we thought the world of him, words cannot express how deeply saddened we feel today.
Through three generations of the O’Connor family, we have shared with Michael a passion of our native language, music, travel, sport and politics, and most dearly for West Cork and its people — all of which he discussed with immeasurable knowledge, skill and interest.
Michael loved nothing more than conversing in the Irish & Spanish languages and would be so delighted in finding comrades who would enable him to do so. He really enjoyed meeting and engaging with people from home and all over the world .
Michael will always be remembered fondly and dearly by us, the O’Connor family, the entire staff-in particular Kasia who diligently delivered his preferred culinary wishes and his many close and treasured friends at the South County.
