It is with great sadness I have just learned of Michael’s passing. I wish to extend my condolences to Ann and to the O’Connor family. Michael and I had many pre luncheon conversations in the Stephen’s Green Club on what were then the topical issues of the day. His generosity to the club will be remembered. His presence will be sadly missed by all of us.

A friend and golfing companion for many pleasant years in Milltown and Portmarnock. His jocose “pomposity “ ill concealed a deeply caring and kind man.

My sincere sympathies to Ann and the O'Connor family on the death of Michael. Since I became a member of the Stephen's Green Club in the mid 90's, I always enjoyed Michael's wonderful company. His support for the Club was immense. He was a most generous man. It is, indeed, the end of an era. He will be remembered fondly. Requiescat in pace.
