What a courteous lovely man Michael was.. we were so lucky to have had him as our postman for years. As we were away we could not be at his funeral..but we want to send our sincere sympathy to his mother and family......

Sincere condolence on Mick’s passing. I have only heard the very sad news. I worked with Mick in James Street for years and he was a true gentleman, one of the nicest people I have ever worked with. When I retired he always let me know how you were all keeping through his Christmas cards. May he rest in eternal peace.

For years Michael lit up Vernon Street on his daily postal rounds. Always with a cheery word, and always ready to go the extra mile. He may not have lived on our street but he was a neighbour in the true sense of the word. We missed him greatly when he moved to a new area - but still used to meet him around the area. My heart goes out to all of you who loved him, we will keep him in our prayers. May Michael Rest in Peace.

"Michael was one of those people that many people around him noticed, his kindness, his good energy, how caring he was with everyone and how friendly he was, for which he will always be remembered. I still cannot believe that Michael has left us so suddenly and without warning or goodbye. He was a great friend of mine for many years and a nicer person you could not meet. He was very sociable, kind, generous, helpful and always had a lovely smile.It was a real pleasure to be in his company. I was lucky to have shared a coffee just a few weeks ago and what a chat we had, and a good laugh.
