He was the essence of Cork. My childhood and adult life are filled with memories of him. May you rest in peace Michael you served Cork well

He had such a great knowledge of what was happening or about to happen in his beloved city, but most of all he was an absolute gentleman, very kind and caring. Sad to hear of Michaels passing, he was ever present on patrick st and was like one of our own to all of us who worked in Roches Stores. I used meet him every morning at his perch at the bank window and if you were late he would say " run you never make it its nearly 9" a great charachter as was Peggy his mam who was a customer of Roches. To Sean and all the O Regans go my condolences, RIP old friend.

Sad to hear of Michael's passing,a piece of Corks history gone with him. Met Michael many a time when he used visit May Piper on his occasional Sunday off,even delighted to meet him on the laying of a wreath in rememberence of the titanic by one of the naval ships, Michael used pop up every where,he knew so many people through his work. He is missed on the streets of Cork City.. R.I.P. Michael.
