So sorry to hear of Michael’s passing – I have fond memories of him refereeing matches when we were playing with Blarney under-age in games all over Mid-Cork back in the 1970s.

I met him a few years back in Ballintemple before a game in Pairc Ui Chaoimh and had a great chat with him - he was an Inniscarra man through and through and a great servant to the club.

My sympathies to David and you all, on your sad loss.

He served his club Inniscarra and Cork G.A.A. as an exceptional referee with distinction over his lifetime. He was also a great supporter of the Páirc Uí Chaoimh Stadium in recent years.

My sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved father. He was a truly remarkable person. Like many others, I had the pleasure of meeting him on the sidelines in Inniscarra, when our kids were involved, where he was a constant presence, always there to support, encourage and offer wise advice. He had a brilliant way of engaging with officials, especially when a call went against Scarra, assertive, firm, yet always respectful and good humoured. He will be deeply missed.
