I had the great privilege to teach Michael for the last eight years German.

Michael was an exceptional individual.
As a student, he was characterized by his relentless curiosity and thirst for knowledge.

His warm and understanding nature made him a valued companion, always ready to lend a listening ear and wise advice.

Over time he becam a great friend and my mentor.
In his role as a mentor, Michael was tireless.
His patience and dedication helped me to achieve my goals and reach my full potential.
Michael Power leaves behind a void that will be difficult to fill. Yet his legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of all who were privileged to know him.
His passion for learning, his loyalty as a friend, and his wisdom as a mentor will always be remembered.

Condolences to the Power Family on Michaels death. May he rest in peace

I met Michael or “Mick” 50 years ago out in RTE studios where he showed me the ropes when I took the Job in Kippure. For the next 10 years we met often at work and socially and sorted out the worlds problems. Mick would have made a great Politician. Then both of us joined Ericcson’s where we travelled the world teaching. We often met in Lagos Nigeria where Mick was nearly arrested for trying to take photos of the white and blue Nile from a bridge that was military sensitive. Mick arrived into the Residence where we stayed in Lagos and we sat in the bar till 4am. Mick had not checked into his room so at 4am and many beers me heads off to bed. On the way he falls over staff who are sleeping on the floor.
On retirement we had many a great time in Wynns Hotel or up in Gilnas Laytown with the usual gang Liam Cauldwell Tony o Shea, Mick Nash Brendan Hughes Charlie Finn.
You will be greatly missed by me and the Gang

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Michael, my dear friend. To the Power family, please accept my sincere condolences.
I first met Michael while he worked on the Radio links for the P&T back in the late 1970's, while I was stationed in Clifden, Connemara. In later years when I started working in Ericsson, we became great friends. He always kept in contact and we had many long telephone conversations about our world travels.
During the last few years Michael organised meetings with Tony O'Shea, Frank Corcoran and myself. I was often absent as I lived in Galway.
Oh..I miss him so much already. Michael was so well informed and an expert on history and literature.
It was an honour to meet Pierce and Annemarie at the funeral service. Pierce: Your dad would have be proud of you the way you gave spoke from the alter.
Michael was such a wonderful individual.
May he rest in peace.
