My deepest sympathies to Michael's family. Michael was an old friend of the late John Keane and former colleague when I was in DSP. He was an absolute gentleman, Asgard boat restorer and a lovely work colleague. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to see this, deepest sympathy to his wife and all the family. I was only thinking of him on Friday evening at the Foyle Maritime Festival as 24 years ago I began work in the RDO of DSP in Townsend St Dublin, and we shared many chats about Famine ships and The Great Hunger. I will always remember the welcome he made me feel as I was a young wet behind the ears Donegal girl and I will smile and think of him whenever I see a tall ship or someone happy at sea.
