My deepest sympathy to the Quinlan family for their loss. we grew up together in "beech park" . And were friends for a time in Dublin. I remember Michael as a very gentle and kind person ,and though we did not meet up very often as adults I was always kept informed by my siblings of Michael and his family.

I was very sad to hear of the recent passing of Michael. I got to know him through our work, he was a great guy to have a chat with on any topic. He was always kind and considerate of others and loved his dogs, which is always a sign of a kind heart. We had a connection through our fathers who served in the Congo and fought in Jadotville. Lisa and Aimee, there are no words to express the loss of your very special Dad. You reminded me Lisa of our bridge games with Clare and Michael and you would both play with Colin. Lisa and Aimee, I have just learned of Michael’s passing too late to attend the service. I grew up with Michael in Athlone and we both experienced a lot of ‘firsts’ during the 60’s. During my early years in Dublin I was a regular visitor at Cathal Brugha barracks where Michael then lived with his parents. We continuously bumped into one another over the years since and he never failed to talk about his treasured daughters of whom he was immensely proud. The world will be a poorer place in the absence of your kind, gentle and caring father who is now reunited with your mother, Clare.
