My memories of Michael go all the way back to the 80s in Cavendish Row, right up to when he retired. He was not your average Joe. One of my colleagues affectionately coined the phrase "Quirke by name, Quirke by nature". Isn't it nice to be remembered as a bit of a character! Michael was also a very good worker who took the job seriously at a time when not everybody did. Very diligent with a kind heart, fondly remembered.

Very sorry to hear of Michael's passing. He was a great colleague for many many years in Dublin County Council and latterly Fingal County Council. A true gentleman May he rest in peace

He was an incredibly kind man who always saw the good in others and we had many laughs and chats over the years.
