Michael Rawlins

We were very saddened to hear of Michael's illness and passing. We were privileged to know him for many years and considered him to be a very dear friend. Michael always kept in touch with us regarding events in Mount Melleray. We were glad to meet him on our many visits to the Abbey. We will very much miss him and he will be in our thoughts and prayers especially at Christmas. He always extended a warm welcome to everyone attending Midnight Mass.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Michael, a very dear and special friend who we have known for over 45 years while visiting Mt Melleray. He was always so helpful at the front desk when we arrived and on the phone organising masscards and keeping us in touch with Melleray until the next visit. A true gentleman. It will not be the same without him.

He was a wonderful neighbour and always ready to help and support in time of need.He was the face of Mount Melleray on duty at the desk in the Mass Office and totally competent and efficient at his work. Michael was the first person that would greet you on your way in to Sunday Mass at the Monastery. Your work is done Michael, enjoy your reward in Heaven after a life well-lived.
