I was so saddened to hear of Michael’s passing. He brought a smile to so many faces in Scoil Carmel during his time there. We will continue to share our many memories of Michael into the future and of how he lifted spirits through song.

My sincerest sympathies to Sheila, Garret and Megan, Niamh, Aylla and CJ, on Michael’s demise. I also wish to extend my condolences to his brothers and his sister Carol, who will miss him dearly.
Michael was my best friend for 55 years since we met as novice badminton players in the late 1970’s.
Bernadette and I, together with Sheila and Michael, socialised as families and our children were also friends. We had many terrific weekends and holidays together. We will miss him greatly.
Michael was always cheerful and full of song and fun. We never had a cross word between us.
May the good Lord welcome him into his kingdom.

What a lovely caring man and a great listener. I have so many fond memories of working in the 80s with Micheal. I got to know every musical score going at the time. Rest in peace.

Michael started his job as a caretaker in Scoil Carmel the same year that I started my teaching career. He was a pure gentleman. I have fond memories of Michael throughout the years from singing his lovely songs around the school to us all and of course the children to having a drink with him on many of our nights out with the Scoil Carmel staff. Sending my condolences to his family, who he loved very much. I hope you're having a pint with John up there x May you rest in peace Michael.

It is with deep sadness that I heard of Michael's passing. Sincere sympathy to Sheila, Garret and Niamh, even though we haven't met it feels like I know you from Michael, who always lovingly wove you into his conversations. A man who was very proud of his family and his adored grandchildren. Every school day Michael was there with a cheery smile and a song to greet everyone. One of life's gentlemen. I'm very sad to hear of Michael's passing. I worked in Irish Rail with him and reconnected with him over the last year or two when he and Sheila had a ball dancing together at the annual pensioners outing of the CIE Social & Welfare Association. A lovely man, RIP.
