We are very shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Michael r.i.p. Michael was always such a Lovely friendly person who always had time for a chat and you would always feel better after meeting him. He really was one of life's gentlemen and will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our sincere Sympathy to all the Ryan Family at this very sad and difficult time. Sincere sympatry to Patsy and to all who mourn Michael’s death. For those of us who have been living away from Murroe for many years Michael’s death means the severance of a very important link with our past. In the midst of much change Mike was a living embodiment of what was constant about old Murroe - always welcoming, always keeping us in touch with the past and putting us in touch with new people in the present.

Michael was a true-blue, long suffering Murroe-Boher and Limerick hurling supporter long before the glory days of recent years and a noted, and sometimes over-persistent, collector of hurling memorabilia in times when there wasn’t much to shout about.

No doubt by now Mike is well into showing off his programme collection to the hurling community up above and basking in the glory of meeting up with his hurling heroes.

Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar do anam séimh, cineálta. We will miss you around Murroe!

Michael was much loved by all his Offaly cousins and we all enjoyed celebrating his 80th birthday with him and his friends on a lovely evening in Birr just last May. It was in Birr he served his Mechanical apprenticeship and developed his life long love of cars, the oldest car was always fixable when Michael got under the bonnet
