I have only just learned the incredibly sad news of Michael's passing. We were colleagues for a time at Virgin Media and I can only describe him as nothing short of an absolute gentleman. I will always remember him as a sweet and engaging man with so many wonderful and whacky stories. My heartfelt condolences to the Walsh family and Michael's friends. He will be so very missed.

We got to know Michael from stopping to chat to him about our dog when we were out on walks and then later about Chani. We were so sorry to hear of his passing. He was always a friendly face to us around the village. Our thoughts are with his family at this heartbreaking time.

Mick, I had the pleasure of your company maybe two or three times, but it was genuinely that, a pleasure. We hit it off. You were witty and down to earth, a really nice guy to talk to and you made me laugh a lot. You were a bright spark.

I knew Michael a number of years back when we were both on the same course in Ballyfermot. A lovely guy who made everyone feel at ease. My sincere condolences to his family. Very sorry to hear about his passing.

I'll remember Mick for his love of interesting conversation as well as his fondness for mischief. Predictable unpredictable but the very essence of a gentleman. I'm grateful to have known him.

I had the privilege of calling Michael a friend for the past 10 years.

Michael was an absolute knowledge hub, you could speak with him about any topic for hours (or even days). But he was also a kind soul, my parents will always remember the thank you card he sent after he stayed in my house in Sligo.

I have many fond memories of him which I will cherish forever, including a trip to Liverpool in 2022. I know how happy it made him in recent years to see Liverpool back on top.

May he rest in peace, and may his soul remain with us. X
