Our sincere condolences to the Slater family on the passing of Michael. A great friend and colleague for many years when we worked in Clonminch - always had a smile and a funny story to tell; his willingness to help his colleagues in any way he could will not be forgotten. Rest peacefully Michael.

So sad to hear of Mick's passing. He will be missed and remembered with fondness by all his friends in the Scottish Military Vehicle Club.

Mick was a part of our family, spending many Sunday’s with us around the dinner table in Ballyshannon. My first encounter with Mick was when he appeared at my birthday party all those 20 something years ago and we were blessed to have gained another family member that day. We will miss Mick’s infectious laugh and many stories he used to tell. It was a delight to spend time with Mick as he was a gentleman and always in good spirits. He will be sadly missed by us all. May he rest in peace.

Still a shock that our dearest Mick has been taken from us all too soon. His kind, caring and infectious laugh will be deeply missed. I will be forever grateful for all the things Mick taught me throughout the years. He has been there for my whole life. He was one of a kind and Sunday dinners won’t be the same without him.

Mick has been part of our lives for so long. He saw our children grow from babies to young adults and even taught them to drive. Mick had a favourite chair in our house - it is so sad to see it empty now especially on Sundays when he would come for dinner. Mick, you will always be in our hearts. Between his strong Scottish accent, his stories he love to tell, his hearty laugh and his big heart and kindness that he showed us all, he will always be a part of our family.
