It was only today I learned the very sad news about Mike who I met a few times over the years with Carmel. My thoughts are with you Carmel, Sarah Jane, Lucy and Grace, and also my deepest sympathies to the Shanahan family.

So Sorry to hear of Michael’s death RIP. My sympathy to Ray and the Shanahan family and also to Carmel and family. He was a friend and colleague, unfortunately we had lost touch in recent years. I remember Michael as a flamboyant character with many many talents.

My deepest condolences to Michael's family on his sudden death.
I worked with him in Tralee, Listowel, Killarney and Beaufort. Michael never ever rushed an anxious child getting dental treatment, and I learned to Never look at the clock. Every patient got treated with a huge amount of respect and patience. I Always knew if he sat back and folded his arms, just to go with it. It worked every time. (And drove me mad).
Michael and Carmel came to my wedding and he was so kind to me when my marriage finished and I went through a terrible time.
I met him last week in SuperValu and I rushed him because I had a family Christening. We literally covered every topic as we walked around, he asked about my Son and my Mother and filled me in on his side.
