Fond memories of Michael in Damerstown when we were growing up and later working along side him for 15 years.Some man to do an honest days work and many's a laugh along the way ,stopping off for a drink or two on the quiet!.A great colleague and friend.I'm sure when Jimmy and himself meet up there will be some stories to be told.

He was a man from another time - he had more backbone more self discipline than the rest of us .
He loved nature and nature loved him -
his evenings spent singing and enjoying the company of others were extended into the next morning,
where he expressed himself in his work as a duty to his fellow man to do it in the style of Michael Shiel.
Which nobody currently can match and i doubt anyone will emerge to replace him .
His personal standards were so high .
