I am very sorry to learn of Michael's death. May he rest in peace. I had the great pleasure of working with him on the Brennan Commision which proposed the establishment of the HSE. He was the intellectual author of that report. Later we were colleagues on the Founding Board of the HSE.
Michael has an outstanding record of public service and it was a privilege to know him.

on my Derry GAA debut against Donegal in 1968 to be tasked with marking him. He absolutely skinned me!
