So saddened to hear of Micks passing. Such a lovely character with a great passion for Folk music and indeed the Arts in general. Wonderful memories of Mick’s participation in the ‘Buskin’ musical, and especially when we went to London with it. His knowledge of the Folk scene and Folk clubs of 60’s London was enlightning and uplifting.
His wonderful collection of Folk songs recorded at Studio Fiona, (spearheaded by Mike Cullen Ahearn), was an enriching and rewarding experience for all involved as we captured Mick’s unique rendition of his favourite songs.

It is with great sadness that we heard of Mick's passing. He will be sorely missed by everybody in Mitchelstown. I've been very lucky to have a friendship with Mick for nearly 80 years. His suffering is over now. Thinking of you Maura and family at this sad time. RIP Mick

I have great memories of Mick.
Especially at the Mother Jones Festival, where he made an incredible contribution.
I will also miss our great conversations on music and politics.
"Mick was one of a kind". At least I have recordings of his great singing. I will cherish them greatly.
My son Gearoid also very much enjoyed Mick's singing and company.
