Ba mhaith linn bás Mhichíl a chású leatsa, a Bhernie, le bhur gclann agus bhur ngarpháistí, bail ó Dhia orthu. Is fada siar ár muintearas, ó Earrach,1959, i 29 Sr. Uí Chonaill Íocht. go dtí innu.
Bhí Mícheál i gcónaí cineálta, gnaíúil agus nior chlis a acmhainn grinn riamh air. Sean-chara Gaelach eile ar lár. Go ndéana Dia grást air agus go dtuga Sé faoiseamh duit-se, a Bernie agus don chlann ar fad atá croíbhriste ina dhiaidh.
— Pádraic agus Annette Ó Gaora
Mícheál was a great father in law who warmly welcomed me to the family upon my marriage to his beloved and only daughter. Muireann is warm, funny, kind, generous, patient, great craic and unconventional! All traits that were, no doubt, influenced by her dad and mum - Bernie.

I was privileged to know Mícheál over the last 25 years. He was unfailingly in good form. Full of chat, stories and jokes and was very learned and well read. He adored his family.

Mícheál was truly one of a kind and I will miss him.
— Eoin Lynch
Fear éirimiúil a raibh grá aige don Ghaeilge, ba phléisiúr dom a chomhluadar i gcónaí, cuma cén ábhar. Ar Dheis Dé go Raibh a Anam.
— Sean Ó Mainnín
