So sorry to have only just heard this news and to have missed the opportunity to pay my respects sooner.
Marie - it's such very sad news, I remember him as a lovely man, he was too young to be taken, I am truly sorry for your loss. Paul, Conor, Michael and Fiona - you will miss your dad, you have my deepest sympathies. His memory will live on in all your hearts.

Micheál was a fellow pupil in the North Mon in the Sixties. Together with his friend Cristoir de Roiste (RIP) they were a humorous force that brightened our days while studying for the leaving cert. Rest in peace Mick .

Just back in Ireland from holidays, so only heard today about Mick’s sad passing.
We were great friends in the Mon and UCC and of course for the rest of our life’s. He was a great character and always a pleasure to meet at the Cork match’s.

Dear Marie and Family,

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mick. He was a dear friend of my father and someone who brought so much joy and laughter into the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I will forever cherish the many moments of happiness and hearty laughter we shared in Phil's, where Mick's quick wit and warm personality always made for a memorable evening. Despite spending most of his adult life in Clonmel, Mick never lost that unmistakable soft Cork accent, which only added to his charm.

Mick had a genuine love for life, whether it was enjoying a pint of Guinness or sharing a story that would have everyone in stitches. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit and the joy he brought to others will live on in our memories.

Please accept my deepest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

He was a fearless defender with great skill and when playing in goal you were quite confident no forward got in to trouble you with Haulie on the edge of the square. Myself, Dec and Liam were so thrilled to meet up again with our cousin Haulie a couple of years ago where we reminisced about our happy days spent in Cooney’s Field and of course The Bunnyconnellan in Myrtleville in the 60’s and 70’s.
