He was a remarkable human being and you always came away from meeting him enriched by the stories he told, especially about his boys and watching them grow. RIP Micheál.

Micheál surprised us during COVID by setting up a 'Go Fund Me' for Hospital FRC completely unexpectedly. He said he wanted to do something for an organisation in his local community. We appreciated his help and thoughtfulness so much and the money he raised ensured we were able to offer support to people through our counselling service. It was a pleasure and privilege to meet Micheál and he definitely brought cheer to us during a difficult period. His passing is a tragic loss, Rest in Peace Micheál and thank you from us all in Hospital FRC.

There are no words to express our sadness at the passing of our lifelong friend Micheál. We meet as teenagers in Maynooth, shared a house for many years, and supported each other in the ups and downs of life for over thirty years. Micheál was the ying in our yang. We remember his friendship as a deeply memorable and treasured part of our lives with each other.
Micheál was one in a million, a real friend who always had your back. He had one shoulder to cry on and another to laugh on. He loved the craic and banter but was also the most dependable friend when you needed his help. He had an amazing gift to light up a room, to connect people and inspire people to try, regardless of the odds. Micheál was so proud of his family and Claire and the boys were always mentioned in any conversation.
Thank you for the 32 years of joy that can never go away. We will always remember Micheál as the one friend who we will never forget. We take some comfort in knowing that Micheál’s spirit will live on through Éanna, Rían, Finn, and Caelán.
