I am truly shocked and devastated to hear of Michele's passing.
There was no-one like Michele de Foubert Shine.
Shine is indeed an appropriate surname for Shelly as she was sunshine itself along with much needed thunder when blatant honesty was called for and that calm when perspective and encouragement for growth and starting again was needed.
She was always there with the right words and energy. From days of the IORC in 1990, through to Fleischmann Choir to IYC she was a tremendous constant. Beautiful breathtaking soprano, wonderful pianist, organiser mentor and friend.
It was an honour to have known her.

There is not a single word on earth that can embody the care and love that Shelley had for her friends, family and students. Shelley was so much more than a piano teacher to me, she taught me about all elements of life. Over the 10+ years that Shelley had been teaching me piano we grew fonder and fonder of each other each week and I can safely say she became a best friend and safe place for me.

After over a decade of knowing Shelley it is her kindness, infectious laughter and her ability to wholeheartedly love life that I will remember her by.

To Shelley’s friends and family, I pray that you find the strength to live a life worth telling her about when you see her again.

And to Shelley, may you Rest in Peace. I will miss you so very dearly. ❤️

We crossed paths with Michele many times, starting with the Irish Youth Choir's visit to Limerick in 1982 where the young Michele made a huge impression with her beautiful voice and liveliness. Many years later we were in Torrevieja on a choir trip and Michele and Dave made waves in the swimming pool, all so much fun. The last time was in February, at the Feis. Michele was accompanying her pupils, with her usual smile and generous encouragement. We will miss seeing and hearing her from the audience at Fleischmann Choir performances. Taken far too young.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Michèle's passing. We only knew her in the last 2 years as she taught our daughter piano but she made a real difference to our lives. She was more than a piano teacher. She offered kindness, support and of course fun. She reminded you how life should be lived and she will be really missed. We're so sorry for your loss.

I am very sorry to hear of Michèle's passing. I was in many choirs with her a few years back and she was always very caring and thoughtful and the life and soul of the group. She particularly looked after new and younger members. Deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

To all who love Michèle - I had the good fortune to cross paths with Michèle many years ago at St Angela's. What a beautiful person inside & out.Her gorgeous smile & big, contagious laugh were her trademark.A phenomenally charismatic woman.There are hymns that I associate with her.I know there were so many laughs when we were practicing them with the girls.She was a life force.Like everyone,I was stunned & so saddened to hear this news. It is with utter shock & sadness that we learned of Michelle’s sudden passing. Dear Dave and family, words cannot express how bereft we are with the loss of Shelley. She truly was the linchpin of our choir in so many ways, as you know. I first met Shelley when she lived in Willowbank and our children were still young. One of my boys had befriended a boy in the park and so I had the opportunity to meet his mum Shelley. When I called to the house, I was immediately invited in for a cuppa and a chat that lasted long after our boys were ready to go home! I also sang with her when the Blackrock folk group and the church choir occasionally collaborated. It was great craic and although she took her music seriously she never lost her sense of humour. Shelley never forgot you once she’d met you, and so, we will never forget her. She will be forever singing with us on Monday nights.
