To my very dear friend Helen, my heart is so sad for you and the loss of your beloved Mike. He was one of the good guys. Generous to a fault, decent and always there to help without making a fuss. I will never forget his kindness and I count myself lucky to have called him my friend. My condolences to Helen and family on Mikes unfortunate passing. He was a great character who I only got the know in recent years. When we would meet in passing we had great chats about all sorts and he was a mine of information with a great sharp sense of humour. Rest in Peace Mike.

I only met Mike in recent years but his reputation preceded him, he was well known around Galway to be a high quality roofer who always had a good story. As i got to know him better I learnt that he was nobodys fool but was also very kind and a gentleman. He will be sorely missed by the family he cared deeply for and talked about all the time. Deepest Condolences to Helen and Lee also to Mikes Sisters and Brother Willie at this sad time. I had the pleasure of knowing Mike (and Tommy) for many a year and had the pleasure of their company at many United games in Manchester.
Mike was a guy that didnt suffer fools he either liked you or he didnt and believe me he would let you know soon enough.
Hard on the outside But a softie inside there is many a person in Galway that will testify that he fixed their roof when no one else would, be it because of the weather or that they didnt have the money to pay for it at the time " sure give it to me when you do have it" he would say to them.
Mike was never shy to put his hand in his pocket to support a good cause either.
I think the only people that he disliked on mass was Political Parties and he was not shy about telling them either.
Mike and Tommy were two great Hibs men and along with Padraic Doc, guided the Club through their most successful years.
I was honoured to be a member of the Breakfast Club for many years in Crowes Bar and quickly found out that Mike was the King of the *One Liner Comeback*
We have lost a True Friend but Heaven has gained an Absolute Gentleman,
Rest Easy Mike as it is Truely Deserved.
