My sincere sympathy to Mike's wife and daughters and all his extended family, on his very sad passing. I have very fond memories of spending time in Mike's company in Bangladesh. He was a great character, kind and great fun. He has done so much good in this world, may he now rest in eternal peace.

To Mike’s wife and girls and all his family i send my condolences at this time of immense sadness for you all.
Worked in Ennis for a time and then ended up in Payroll in Perry Square with Mike and a great bunch of staff who worked hard to deadlines but had a happy working environment and a great social scene.
Mike left to follow his heart to help others who were living through war and famine and took with him his great organisation, management and people skills. He returned for a holiday before Christmas a year or so late and turned up at MWHB Christmas party in the Glentworth to a heroes welcome and a great and late night was had by all.

Mike was our best man at our wedding and was at Gerry funeral last year, so sad to hear of Mike's passing, Gerry will have a great catch up with him in heaven. Old colleagues in HSE Limerick. He was a wonderful boss, a great work colleague and friend to all. He was so much fun and always had a smile on his face. He did wonderful work with Concern and helped so many people. I was so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was a giant of a man! Long after he left Sudan I was back for a few weeks and was in a car with a WFP driver. When he knew I was Irish, he said he only knew one other Irish person and both of us smiled and said Mike McDonagh. Everyone knew and loved him. Rest in peace Mike. So sorry for your loss Sarah and family.

So sorry to hear sbout Mike's death.
We had such good times working together with Concern in Bangladesh in mid 1980's. A lovely guy to spend an evening with. I remember meeting him in a remote place called Tarail, Kishorganj where we split a bottle provided by Aengus Finnucane. Very sorry i didn't make it to the funeral.

Such a great man and a great friend of our family.

I have fond memories golfing with Mike and my Dad and listening to all of his incredible stories. What I loved about Mike was how interested he was in others and how he genuinely loved to talk to you about everything that’s going on in your life, he was a true gentleman who always had a big smile on his face and I’m honoured to have gotten to know him.

I’m so sorry for your loss Sarah, Saoirse and Molly.

I was truly saddened to hear about the passing of Mike. I had the privilege of working with him when he served as the OCHA Head of Office in Khartoum, following Ramesh's leadership, in 2007. Mike was a dedicated and compassionate professional whose leadership and kindness left a lasting impression on all of us. His loss is deeply felt by everyone who had the honour of knowing him.

Mike was a powerhouse, a giant in so many ways. I worked with Mike in the 1980's in Sudan, where his enthusiasm, motivation, caring, humour and craic were infectious. Everyone loved him and he got stuff done. I enjoyed so many nights on the town back in Dublin afterwards with the Concern crew - so many fond memories of Mike. It was a great shock and sadness to hear of his passing.
He will live on in all the people he touched, the lives he improved, and the many kind gestures and words he spoke.
