Donnacha, I have only heard recently of the sad passing of your lovely mam Monica and want pass on my sincere condolences to you, Jacob and extended family. We have been good friends since we met in a new housing estate near Terenure in the late seventies. Although we’ve all moved on from there many years ago, our friendship has lasted. We have continued to meet regularly, often at plays when Monica invariably organized the tickets. We miss her warmth and love already.

We are unfortunately unable to attend her funeral.

I was greatly saddened to read of Monica's passing. I was privileged to have been her Principal for a short number of years and remember her great love of teaching, her great skill in the classroom and her gentle presence in the school environs.
