Like your Dad, Paddy, your Mom, was part of the very fabric of my childhood right from the very beginning.
She always greeted me warmly with her radiant smile whenever we met; and was forever apologizing for the dogs barking at the gate whenever I passed!
I know she knew my Mom, Dolores, who would say: I met Mona Flanagan today on the way up the town or on the way back from the town. So in my mind she was always Mona, though I never addressed her as such. As a child I loved the fact that my Mom had so many friends with unique names.
Another great oak has fallen in the forest of our lives.
May she rest in peace.

So sad to hear of the death of Mona as I have known her all my life, and was at the wedding of Mona and Paddy who was lovely too. I was about 7 or 8 at the time.
