Mrs Mac as she was always known to me as the mother of friends from school days was a wonderfully kind woman of great strength of character. A classic Irish Mammy, she opened her home and her hospitality to all. She took no nonsense from anyone and knew how to stand strong even in the face of the most terrible tragedy that can befall a family. She was an inspiration to many and will be long remembered fondly.

Kua hinga te tōtara - a mighty tree has fallen.

May she rest in peace. Sincere condolences to Peter, Sarah and all the family

Mona McCully was a quick witted, generous, modest, self deprecating and stoic lady.

Mona shared her passions for gardening, poetry, crochet and history with all who knew her. Fiercely independent and active, she met adversity and joy both, with a quite nobility.

Mona loved her William, David, Peter, Sarah and her grandchildren dearly and spoke of them all the time.

There was a poem for every occasion and topic of conversation.

She will be missed, but not forgotten.
