To the family of Monsignor Dermot Clarke please accept my sincere condolences, May Fr. Dermot's gentle soul rest now in eternal peace. Please be assured you are in my prayers at this time as you grieve your dear brothers passing. I have offered Mass for the Happy Repose of His Soul and will continue to keep him in my prayers. God bless and watch over you.
I was very sad to learn of the death of Father Clarke, as we always called him. I last met him on Christmas Eve, when we had a special Mass at Aughrim Street Church to mark my father's 100th birthday, with tea and cake in the sacristy afterwards.
Father Clarke was also particularly good to my late mother, Maura McDonald, during her long incapacity from a stroke id December 1999, visiting her at home on several occasions, including at least one where he said Mass there. He also concelebrated Mass at her funeral in Aughrim Street in January 2009.
I'm sure I speak for many in saying that Father Clarke was a great priest and, even more so, a caring one. He will be sadly missed by the congregation, especially the older ones. RIP

It is with great sadness that I have learned of the passing of Monsignor Clarke.
I remember so well when he came to our parish in Blanchardstown and moved into his home in Broadway Road just around the corner from me.
There were many times in my role as GP that I had to call on Fr Dermot. You couldn't find a kinder more caring and charismatic pastor. He was there for everyone both in times of joy and sadness.
Not alone was he a great priest in our parish, he was also a wonderful neighbour.
He will be sadly missed.
May his gentle soul rest in peace
