Sincere sympathy to all the Pollard family.

Sincere sympathy to the Pollard family on the sad passing of Monsignor Joe. He was a great friend to us and a cousin as we all hail from Pollards of Toomevara, though we could never find the familial connection. May his gentle soul rest in peace
Deepest sympathy to the Pollard family on the death of Fr Joe. I got to know him when he came to say Mass in Salthill Church every Sunday for quite a while. I played the organ at the Mass and back then needed a cantor but Fr Joe would never sing. On one occasion I asked him about a cantor , saying “what songbird do we have to-day” and in the middle of Mass two birds came into the Church, flew right up to the ceiling and chirped profusely before swooping down towards the alter. Fr Joe was quick to tell me afterwards “you got your songbirds”. We were all amazed as it never happened before or since. It was lovely to have him in Salthill. People loved his sermon -gifted and inspired. Peace, perfect peace to him now.
Sincerest condolences to John, Emer, Deirdre and to all of the Pollard family on the passing of Fr. Joe. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis
I always looked forward to his homilies, knowing that I would hear something that touched my soul. As he described his predecessor, Msgr John Sheridan, Sagert Mor.
