Father Vincent had a life fully lived. Everyone he met he was a magnet for many of us to be together.
I am so blessed to have shared some great memories with him. My Family and I will miss him.
Deepest sympathies to the Bartley family on the death of Fr Vincent. I have fond memories of having coffee with him in Dominicks's, New Dorp, when I would visit Staten Isand and we would often meet at the home of his late cousin (my Aunt Joan), in Clogherhead. A wonderful man, kind, gentle and caring. God rest.
My deepest condolences to the Bartley family. Monsiignor Bartley and I got to know each other at St. Paul's and Church. Over the years I sent him cards on his Birthday n special occasions n he always called to thank me. I will truly miss him and keep him in my thoughts and prays. Rest in Peace my friend..
Monsignor Vincent Bartley and my father Joe Somers were childhood friends. My Parents moved to New Jersey and found out Monsignor Bartley was in Staten Island. For Many years if my parents were home at Christmas they invited him to stay with them for Christmas. When my father passed in 2017 I went through his address book and saw the familiar name. I called to let him know of his passing and he said he would come down and say mass. It was the most loving act of kindness. He told so many stories of the two of them as young lads. They will no doubt reunite again. Our sincere condolences to his family. He was deeply loved by all who met him.
Deepest condolences on your loss. Father Bartley was a wonderful man, so kind and warm. Everyone loved him, especially the children. He epitomizes everything a priest should be. God rest his soul.

Heartbroken to hear this news. Vincent was an incredible support to my family and a wonderful friend to my Dad and Mum for many, many years. He flew home when my Dad passed away and said a beautiful funeral mass for him; a deeply kind gesture that I will never forget. His infectious smile, warmth, generosity of spirit and insightful counsel will be sorely missed.
I know your sweet soul will rest in peace.
Love Natalie
It is with deep sadness that we got word of the death of Monsignor Bartley, he was a special person and an outstanding priest. We met in Sarasota Florida at the home of Virginia and Oliver McPartland and discovered we both were students at Brunner together in the early 1950's. It was a memorable first meeting. Rest in peace Monsignor and our sincere condolences to your extended family.
Monsignor Bartley was a wonderful man loved speaking to him. I worked with him at St Paul's School Staten Island New York
Prayers sent for you and your family
To his family: we are so deeply sorry for your loss. Monsignor Vincent Bartley was like a father to my husband, Joseph (Allun) Ren. He loved and was loved dearly by us and our little girls. He had a brightness, a way about him that lifted up everyone around him. He visited us in Chicago during our wedding and again a few years ago. My husband was able to visit him again this summer and we are so glad for that. He was extraordinary. Full of God's love, a man who lived his faith, always in service to others. We will miss him so very much. We love you Vince. Until we meet again!
We had the pleasure of getting to know Father Vince thru our good friends George and Margaret Haviland. He was truly a wonderful man and we really looked forward to spending time with him during our Sarasota vacations. He was very helpful when I converted to Catholicism and I am forever grateful . Rest in peace Father Vince. Bruce A.and Mary Ann Doorly
