We saw Murt in many costumes throughout the years, but still never realised why Santy had a Kerry accent, he kept us believing in the magic for extra precious years. May he rest in peace.

I extend my sincerest condolences to all of Murts family on his death. When we brought an international extension conference to Clare around 1997, Michael McGrath got Murt for the “after dinner music and craic” when the tour group of around 100 visited farms and other projects in the county. Murt was the great entertainer on that evening - an occasion not forgotten. I knew him in UCD when we were students- a great extrovert Kerryman. RIP Murt. Dermot
