I was so saddened to hear this news. I know Murt from his time mentoring the VMware Toastmasters Club. He was such a gent and brought a great sense of humour to his mentorship. He was dedicated and committed to the Club and was a longtime supporter and friend. May he rest in peace

As teachers of Irish we had many profound discussions but we didn’t manage to change the axis of the world. Murt was knowledgeable on many topics & a great conversationalist. Michael, I am so sorry to hear that Murt has passed away in that sad and unfortunate accident. I know the two of you were brothers but more importantly best friends also.
Murt was a mentor to me and a wonderful colleague when I started off in St Brogan's. He helped and guided me through those early years. He was always a kind hearted and thoughtful man. I wish you eternal rest now Murt and I hope if it is allowed by the universe I will get to see you again and benefit even more from your amazing wisdom.

It was so sad to hear about Murts accident . I had the privilege of being in St Brogans with Murt . He had not a bad word to say about anyone . He was a real gentleman in the true sense of that expression . He was a very funny man as he had a way of expressing the ordinary happenings of school life with his witty words . We shared many memorable occasions with Murt in Brogans . Our hearts go out to you Michael on the loss of your brother and your friend in life .

So grateful and honoured to have been in Knockavilla this morning to be able to understand and embrace the life of Murt and the esteemed history associated with his family from Raheen We came away regretting that we hadn’t availed of the opportunity to engage during his lifetime He surely left an indelible mark on his republican heritage and far beyond with positive tentacles into so many facets of community life .Michael your eulogy today was so natural and simplistically espoused The Love of brother , friend and soul mate . The immense sense of loss through your delivery was very palpable and real. I was shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death of Murt. I got to know Murt through Toastmasters. He was always so kind, gentle, very encouraging. A sea of knowledge, he could speak in depth on any topic, especially Irish history. His knowledge shone out. He was a beautiful person. Will be very much missed.
