I was a neighbour of Billy when I was growing up back in the 50s and I re-introduced myself to him some 15 years ago. I was so surprised that he remembered my first name and that of my brother after all those years. Ever since we have always saluted and sometimes chatted to each other when we would meet on our walks - including Monday this week. Little did I know then that it would be the last I would see of him. May he rest in peace.
