Brian, we are so sorry to hear today the sad news of Muriel’s death, she was a great neighbour to us at our home in North Wexford, her joy was infectious. She loved life.

May Muriel rest in peace.

I was so surprised and sad to read of Muriel passing. She was in my thoughts yesterday and having looked Muriel up on line I read this very sad news.
Muriel was such a bright spark in every way!
I have such fond memories of her and all the fun we had as teenagers.
My sincere condolences to all of her family.

It's a month since Muriel passed and I felt moved to add this:

'The sun still shines as before
The roses still grow beside my door,
The sky is blue and robin sings,
The butterflies dance on rainbow wings,
But you have gone.'

Muriel, you have gone but you are not forgotten.

Dear Brian and Mrs. Moroney, we only heard today, May 21st of Muriel's passing. We are shocked and deeply saddened. We got to know Muriel through Tour Guiding and she was such a wonderful person. Beautiful, Friendly , Engaging and Knowledgeable to all that she met on the Tours we worked together. We will think of her often.
Our deepest sympathy to you both and to the extended Family.

Brian,
We learnt last week of Muriel's passing. We offer you, and all Muriel's family, our deepest sympathy.

Although we did not meet often since leaving Graig Gardner / Price Waterhouse in the early 90s, we always enjoyed a good chat when we did bump into each other.

Muriel was always pleasant, upbeat and entertaining.

Dear Brian and Mrs. Moroney,
I only just saw the notice re Muriel’s death in April and want to say how sorry I am for this very, very sad loss.
I met her in 2023 at an exercise class and we jelled instantly, but then, she was the loveliest person and a gift to meet, if only for a short time. I had the privilege of walking home with her a few times when she would invariably find Brian waiting for her at some nearby coffee shop. It was clear that this was a very special relationship of such mutual profound love and care. She spoke of her mum and how special that relationship was.
I’ve thought of her often and prayed that she was keeping well as my schedule changed and I could no longer attend the Tuesday sessions. All I knew was that she lived a few roads away - I’m on Mountain View.
I have no doubt that she’ll look after you both from her new vantage point and will escort you in a different way into the future. Such spirit as hers will prevail.

Muriel was our most wonderful next door neighbour. She and Brian would do anything for you. A great pair and always up for a sing-song, a party and fun. We miss Muriel, she and Brian had a rich life and a great relationship with all who lived around them, cats and dogs too. Muriel, you left this world way too early. No one wanted to say farewell to a beacon of light, a fun loving and funny person . You were treasured and loved by Brian , whom you adored unconditionally. You were the most wonderful daughter to May and your nieces and nephew were privileged to have you as their auntie. This world is at a huge loss . One can only hope that our loss is to the next world’s benefit. RIP sweet lady.

Brian, I didn’t learn of Muriel’s death until the funeral was over. I am very sorry. I hadn’t met either of you for several years so when I think of Muriel it is as she was in Craig Gardner in the ‘80s - young, lovely, gentle and warm-hearted - I don’t think she ever really lost any of those qualities, and I know she was much-loved by family and friends. It’s a great loss for you and the rest of her family.

My deepest sympathies to Brian, Mrs Moroney and all her family and many friends. Muriel was a burst of energy that lit up a room and left a lasting positive impression on everyone that she ever met. This was very evident in talking to people at her funeral. I have great memories of her time in Bank of Ireland, both professionally and from the nights out, often with Brian and old friends joining in. May she RIP.

Dear Brian.
I know that at such a time as this words are not enough. But, please know that you and all who loved Muriel are in my thoughts and prayers. Anytime I met Muriel, I enjoyed her company very much. She genuinely was a very lovely person, both inside and out, and an immeasurable loss to all of your lives.
May the wonderful legacy of memories you have shared together help to guide you through these very sad and difficult times.

To Brian and all of Muriel’s family, I am so sorry for your terrible loss. This was the saddest news. Muriel was one of the loveliest people I’ve ever known. And lots of other people would say the same. So warm and good humoured. I keep remembering the “Dear Inspector of Taxes, my cat is a dog” speech.

I made a half-baked attempt to get in touch with Muriel in recent months which to my great regret didn’t work out. And a small family crisis in the last few days meant I wasn’t able to come to the funeral.

Muriel and I worked together in PwC from 1995 to 2000, with only a small partition wall between us.

I had come from the opposition accounting firm, but she welcomed me like a long lost brother and was incredibly supportive and friendly. We had many fun times together. I was so happy for her when she teamed up with Brian ... a true soul mate.

We shared a passion for cats and their crazy ways.

Five years ago I moved to North Wexford and Muriel and I had been in contact many times to meet up here, as she and Brian had a place in Courtown, but unfortunately we never managed to, although we did meet often at events in Dublin. Her last communication was to wish me a happy Birthday last December.

I was devasted on Friday to hear from Brian that Muriel had passed the previous day.

Muriel was a vibrant, lovely, kind and loving person. And one of the nicest people that I have ever met. She had a great sense of humour and was a wonderfully engaging, and charming lady. Her smile lit up the room. I feel a light has gone out in our lives, we will not see her likes again. I will miss her so much.
