I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful Mum. I was away at the time of the funeral and could not be there . She was a real gentle lady and we always had a little chat when we met. I know you will miss her terribly .

Nancy Broderick was a true lady.
I met her first in the late 1980's in Loughrea Golf Club through my mother-in-law Anna Glynn RIP. In later years I met Nancy again when I delivered meals-on-wheels to herself and Jim and I always looked forward to our fortnightly quick chat about golf & family.
When I delivered Nancy her dinner in June 2021 she surprised me by handing me a mass card for my recently deceased father. Nancy never met my father, he never lived in Loughrea and he had a different surname to my mine. It transpired that Nancy had read a page length obituary for my father in the Connacht Tribune the previous week and when she saw his daughter listed as Siobhan Glynn (Loughrea) she turned to Jim and said "I knew Siobhan was out of sorts recently, I thought she might have Covid but she was obviously upset about the pending death of her father".
The fact that she took the time to go get a mass card for my dad whom she never knew really touched my heart and was a measure of the true Christian lady that was Nancy (Cotter) Broderick. RIP
