I broke up with my first boyfriend when I was a Mary I student staying with Nancy and Ger in the mid 80s. She would banish Ger from the kitchen to listen to my woes. She fed me apple tart and tea and guess what, I got over it. She was a landlady in a million! Ar dheis dé go raibh a hanam dílis

Wasn’t I the luckiest girl to fall into Nancy & Ger’s nest as a young student! And that was 52 years ago! Nancy mothered us, fed us (the best breakfasts!) and listened to our stories (good and not so good) and gave us 3 pals a gentle ear. We 3 are still besties! May you rest in peace, Nancy

As a student in Mary I in the 70s I knew some of the girls who were lucky enough to be staying with Nancy and when ever I visited I was always made to feel more than welcome .Those girls certainly drew the golden ticket.Such a warm,homely house filled with kindness,fun and laughter.Nancy was a landlady in a million.
