Sending sincere condolences to all of Mrs o connells friends and family. Nancy was my primary school teacher in Palmerstown for 5th and 6th year. I've so many wonderful memories... One of which is when she came to my house to watch Jennifer model on RTE as she wouldn't make it home in time to see it. I was the envy of all my friends that our teacher came to my house and had tea . Sleep well. You changed the lives of so many without even knowing it. Xx

My deepest sympathies to all Mrs O Connell's family on her passing. I have fond memories of Mrs O Connell as my teacher for 2 years in St Brigids, Palmerstown. She was a fantastic teacher who not only taught us the curriculum but also gave us cookery lessons, taught us many old songs and poems, did plays with us such as Juno and the peacock and even showed us how to clean our teeth properly! It’s hard to put words together to fully express our family’s heartbreak at the loss of Nancy.

Nancy was a force of nature. Intelligent; caring; extremely witty; and talented. Through her towering height, sense of style, elegance, and charm; and her acutely incisive powers of observation; it was always a delight to find her sitting at our kitchen table; turning over the news of the day; or sorting out some problem or other. There were always laughs. And sometimes, songs.

To our mum, she was a best friend. To us; she was very much family.

They broke the mould when they made Nancy. Our lives were richer for knowing her.
