Dear Eithne - my heart breaks for you and all the family on the loss of your gorgeous mum. Nanette was truly wonderful - the whole package! She was an amazing teacher and highly respected school principal, so gentle yet so strong, she personified elegance and was an absolute lady to her fingertips. She never lost her beautiful Donegal accent of which she was so proud …. and rightly so.

I’m so sorry I missed Nanette’s funeral but I know my mum, all the O’Callaghan ‘girls’ and many many more will have been at the gates of heaven to welcome her.

I hope in time all the lovely messages you receive about your gorgeous mum will help to console you on her loss.

Sincere condolences to you all

Marie Browne
Dear Eithne & family, So sorry to hear that your wonderful mum has passed away! Blessed that Nanette was surrounded by her loving family when she passed on to the next life. She was a loving, kind and strong woman. My mother always commented that Mrs Harley was so gentle and ladylike with beautiful hair and they continued to meet each other over the years through their mutual love of bridge. No doubt Nanette will be rewarded for her goodness and kindness in the next life.

I have great memories of Mrs Harley in Our Lady’s Junior School as she taught us and prepared us for first holy communion and later as school principal. She taught us all about Donegal Tweed and Belleek Pottery and gave us an important appreciation of the Irish language and culture, classical art, George Bernard Shaw, and my first visit to the National Art Gallery.

She taught us the lovely Dublin Saunter song which I still sing on a beautiful sunny day and it reminds me of her and the happy days she gave us. Nanette really was a special person. A wise woman and a lady. May she rest in peace now.
🙏❤️🙏 🖼️ 💕🌷✝️ xoxo
Deepest sympathy to Eithne and her family on the death of her dearly loved mother. Being unable to attend the funeral, I watched the beautiful tribute to Nanette online and was very moved by Eithne's eulogy. Nanette was an outstanding principal in OLS and I had many chats with her, particularly about her Belfast cousins- the Casements - who, like Nanette, were influential educators and role models. May her gentle soul now rest in peace.
Either, so sorry to hear about your Mam, sad times but you’ve such great memories to hold on to.
Thinking of you today and over the coming weeks.
Take care
Eithne, Cormac and Fiona, you gave Mrs Harley the most fitting send off today. It was a really beautiful mass, and totally embodied the spirit of your mum and nana. Go well, Mrs Harley.
I was incredibly moved to hear of Mrs Harley’s passing. She was an incredible role model for me at OLS and has left a lasting impression as well as many lasting lessons. She always told us to know how lucky we were to be surrounded by so many trees at school. I think of her every time I am in Bushy Park and will continue to do so. Thank you for sharing her with us.
Eithne and family, so sorry to hear of your Mum's passing she was such a lovely woman as were all the Molloy ladies. I hope you take some comfort in the time ahead from having had such a loving relationship and good times together for so long. Sending you our prayers and thoughts.
To Eithne, Cormac and Fiona and all the family,
We watched Nanette's beautiful funeral Mass online. What a wonderful and dignified tribute to a truly dignified lady it was. Nanette would be so proud of the delivery of the readings, the prayers, the singing and instrumentals, but especially the lovely eulogy of Fiona and Eithne.
We cried and sometimes laughed and though it felt a bit surreal not to be there, we felt that we were a part of it.
Nanette inspired so many with her elegance, her love of the beautiful things of this world- poetry, nature, music , but most of all her kindness and her beautiful smile.

Ar dheis Dé atá sí anois
Eithne I am so sorry to hear of your Mum’s passing. Nanette was a true gentle lady in every sense of the word. She epitomised the essence of love, kindness and compassion. Mo chomhbhrón ort agus ar do mhuintir. Suaimhneas sioraí dá hanam.

Dear Eithne and family, sincere condolences on the loss of your beautiful mum. Mrs. Harley was my earliest role model and has left a life long impression on me. An amazing educator in the whole-child sense of the word. I credit her with my love and appreciation of music, poetry, nature, literature, theatre, the arts generally. Gaeilge too, (along with Bean Uí Caomhánach who she also gifted to us) . OLS Junior school was such a precious place to be. Mrs Harley made us feel like we mattered, she listened to us and instilled a love of learning, a respect, a kindness and a joyfulness. She was such a lady, full of grace and a beautiful soul. In assembly she would speak so beautifully and we were all mesmerised. We simply adored her. She would say "Every day read a beautiful poem, look at a beautiful tree, play or sing a beautiful song, smile and be happy". I hold that blessing in my heart to this day. Thank you Mrs Harley. How lucky we were to have you.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Ms. Harley. I count myself privileged to have been taught by her in Our Lady’s Junior School. I loved being a student in her classroom. She was elegant, gentle natured, patient, kind and so fair…all the traits I’ve come to learn make a truly wonderful teacher and role model. I think of her often while I’m teaching my own classes & can only hope I do half as good a job as she did all those years ago. Rest in peace Ms. Harley, you will be sadly missed but never forgotten 💛
