Ned Ryan

My deepest sympathies to my dear friend Anne, Ned’s parents, brothers and the Ryan family during this very challenging time. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Ned was truly one of the most kindhearted, warm and funny people, I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. From the moment I met him, we clicked immediately. He never failed to bring positivity and laughter to any room and I am so thankful to have shared such wonderful memories with him, he was truly one of a kind.

What I’ll remember most is how much he adored Anne. Their love for each other was so evident, and it was clear that they were perfect for one another. Ned treated Anne with such kindness and respect, he embodied what it means to be a wonderful partner and I couldn’t have wished for a more special person to have met my best friend.

Ned had the rare ability to make everyone feel like a friend, and I know his memory will be forever cherished by all who knew him. He touched so many lives, and his spirit will live on in the smiles and love he left behind.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Ned Ryan's passing. Ned was such an incredible young man.

From reading the condolences, it is clear Ned touched so many lives with his kindness, positive energy, and beaming smile. It was always a pleasure to work with Ned in Portlaoise. Always good-humoured and calm, he had a kind word for everyone. He treated everyone with empathy, kindness, and respect.

He will sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

I had the pleasure of knowing Ned during our 4 years in Mary I. I will always remember him for his iconic UNO nights he hosted in Castlewell, the house used to be erupting in laughter. I was lucky enough to spend a year of college living next door to Ned, and he always greeted everybody with the biggest, kindest smile. He was a ray of positivity which always reminded us to live life to the fullest. Himself and Anne were known for their caring personalities and their relationship was unmatched.

I will cherish the many memories I have of my time spent with Ned forever. Thinking of you all during this time.

I had the privilege of getting to know Ned during my time in Mary I and even luckier to live beside him for one of those years. Ned’s infectious smile and good humour had an impact on every room he entered.

I have some fond memories of Ned in particular the Pancake Tuesday he hosted in Castwell. A milk carton of pancake batter was brought from Laois to Limerick and there was pancakes for whoever needed. I will hold onto these fond memories and I will always remember Ned.

I have very fond memories of Ned from my days in Mary I that I will hold forever. Ned was always smiling and always capable of putting a smile on others faces.
I remember nights in Limerick playing Uno, a game that Ned had mastered and I especially remember our graduation last year. We spent time with Ned and Anne in the hotel leisure centre where we chatted and laughed for 2 hours, a special memory and time I had with Ned that I will cherish forever.

Words will never be enough to do justice to the man Ned was. He was a true gentleman—the kind of person who made you want to be better simply by being around him. Although the five years of friendship we have with Ned has come to a painful end, I will forever be greatful for the time, memories and friendship we were lucky enough to have with such an amazing lad.

The lasting impact Ned has left on the people and world around him is testament to the type of lad he was. He’ll always be with us, living on in our stories, our memories, the questionable catch phrases he's left us with and the many ways he’s changed how we see and live our lives.
