My sincere condolences to Sharon, Cathy and the McGrory family.
As Neil’s cousin I met with him too infrequently but from childhood. As a boy and man he was always kind, charming and great company. He will be missed by the Stobbs clan.

Such a great loss to our small community. Neil was a decent, honourable man who was happiest with his family around him. He adored you Sharon & Cathy, you took such care of him. Rest in peace dear Neil 🌷

Not so long ago I bumped into Neil in Faithlegge and he suggested that he and Sharon would play golf with me and Michele some time. I always thought it would happen and I looked forward to it. It saddens me today to think that it was never to be. He would be very proud of Kathy and her uncle to hear their wonderful and heartfelt tributes to him today.

We were so sorry to hear of Neil's death and send you our sincere condolences Sharon and Cathy. We will miss Neil on the Wicklow hills and every time we climb in the area we will remember his gentle and funny presence at our annual get-togethers in Glenmalure over the years.

I was so sorry to hear about Neil's passing, he was my lecturer on a programme I studied in WIT and was also a colleague when I began working here. He was always warm and friendly and has been said by many a true gentleman. May he rest in peace.

So sorry Sharon & Cathy that we can't be with you today. I have written & said some of the things, that I am about to post, already to you Sharon. I have read the very touching condolences & acknowledgements of Neil's contributions to teaching & to golf & about him being such a decent person. In addition, he was also a very funny person, a wonderful slagger & always tried to find the humour in the situation. He did this even through his illness & when the days got more difficult, he still defaulted to finding the funny side of the situation. He was up for everything: from erecting & taking down the scaffolding for the Imagine Arts Festival's first drive-in movie at Millers Marsh, to dressing up as a Daliesque chef & tossing pancakes in the Waterford Youth Arts's contribution to the St. Patrick's Day Parade, to abseiling down from the roof of Croke Park for Solas, to travelling extensively in South America. He also loved Jazz & music generally, & he was good to support live gigs in Waterford. He loved Rugby. He was a most welcoming host at your home in Faithlegg. He will be sorely missed, but the saddness will always be tinged for me with the great memories of his sense of fun. You have earned your rest Neil & I have no doubt that you will get the send-off you deserve in Dunmore East today.
