Neilus was such an integral part of our little community and played such a significant role in our lives, likely without even thinking so. He will always be remembered so fondly in the stories we will continue to tell filled with chalk lollies, wonderful singsongs and the most glorious Christmas trees.

My sincere sympathies to the family, relatives, neighbours and friends, on the death of one of natures gentleman, Neilus Keohane R I P. May he Rest In Peace, rewarded for his goodness and kindness in life, granted a very special place in his new found heavenly home, reunited with all his loved ones gone before him, to share in that everlasting heavenly peace and joy, of which Neilus justly deserves after a fulfilling Christian life. He was a rather quaint, honourable, and a wonderful member of the local community, serving in his beautiful pub, and had that great interest in life on the Bandon river, where he fished and very much part of the killmacsimon rowing club. His family were an old and very much respected, he was a person who could trace relationships of very many families, and events of the parish, the locality, and beyond , he will be greatly missed by his family, and the community in the Courcies , and beyond , May the Lord bless and comfort Neilus, and all those who are grieving his loss.

I have many early childhood memories of calling to “The Quay” to “Aunty Mollys”with my parents Chrissie (Hyde) & Flan and meeting Neilus & Sylvia on their visits to my parents in Dunmanway. May he rest in peace.

Just got the news today -our deepest sympathy to Sylvia, John and Grainne and all the extended family and friends. What a lovely and very kind man. We have fantastic memories of many a summer visiting Kilmacsimon Quay and always felt very welcome.

Condolences to Sylvia John Grainne and extended family. I remember Neilus as a gentle giant when I visited the bar in Kilmacsimon Quay with my deceased Dad Joe Hyde. I loved listening to Neilus tell the stories and a catch up on the family. I was always fascinated by how fast Neilus could add and subtract a bill in his head. Sorry that the Hyde family in Limerick were not represented at his funeral but unfortunately we didnt know. May Neilus rest in peace and his memory be a comfort and a blessing to you at this sad time.
