I remember one summer Nellie bought strawberries and Gooseberries for Glenveagh Castle off my sister & I when we had a bumper crop and in our childhood innocence thought we could sell them to passing trade on the road around Gartan from the bottom of our lane with a small rickety old table, a plastic chair and a real DIY sign made out of throwaway wood. These were pre-instagram times! When Nellie heard our story she offered us twenty Irish punts which was a lot of money back then for two little kids in the 80's. That was the type of person she was! She was always interested in what was happening in your life and when Nellie was involved in something you could be sure it would be done right and with the minimum amount of fuss. We miss her terribly and our hearts and minds are with Joan, Fiona, Elaine, Don & the extended family at this time. We are thinking of you Domhnall, Louise , Tara & Emer from Dunlewey
