My sincere condolences to Nessa's Family. Nessa was a lovely and attentive colleague: I still remember Nessa so full of joy and sparkle with a little baby boy in her arms when visiting colleagues at the GSC long time ago - and only very recently, it seems, always with kind words and attention to GSC colleagues when meeting in the corridors.
May Nessa rest in peace. Wishing all the strength and blessing to her Family.

Noel, I have just today (23 Nov) heard of Nessa's death; and have watched the funeral service. Your obituary was so a point. You said so much in referring to her beauty - both in body and soul; and the accompanying epithets that went with her beauty. The news of her death has left me feeling so sorry for you all. My thoughts are with you.

I remember, back at the beginning of the 1990s, meeting Nessa the first time when she had just arrived at the GSC. We were both part of the joyful bunch of youngsters entering the house with the Council A 319 competition. Since then it was always good to talk to her, about the job, about the evolution of the GSC, and even about the experience of bringing up children. I will miss these conversations with her very much.

Goodbye forever, Nessa. You always made me think of a bird, flying alongside me in the sunshine with a humorous chirp. Though we were never colleagues, I knew you as a warm, gentle person, and oh how we laughed about so many things that were supposed to be serious. I wish you would have been given a longer life. Dear Noel and family
I heard about Nessa's death while visiting Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. I am devastated. She was a great GSC colleague, always ready to help and counsel, always positive and constructive. She deeply cared for her country and for the EU. She was a dedicated servant of both.
The loss is immense. But Rabindranath Tagore once wrote: "Not cry that it is over, Smile because it was." I will remember Nessa with a smile.

Even though Nessa was not my direct colleague, I had a pleasure of meeting her and working with her couple of times. And she has left a big and warm feeling from all those encounters.
