I was so sad to hear of Neville’s passing. We were classmates in Miss Braden’s and were part of a gang with Tony Gordon, Brian O’Beirne and Johnny Connolly. We were greatly to belatedly learn of Neville’s death. Michael and Neville were raised approx 100 yards apart, he cam to regard the Murphy’s as the Patricians of Bray and remembers as a teenager. Getting a loan of Neville’s bike and crashing it badly and being sent by his father to see Neville and offer to pay for the repairs in instalments with his pocket money for however long it took. Neville graciously declined. He wasn’t a bad rugby player either . R.I.P

I first met Neville when I began work as a court reporter in Bray in 1978 and right from the start found him to be unfailingly warm, friendly and the epitome of courtesy. He was both a consummate legal professional and the very definition of a gentleman.
