I worked as Niall’s Secretary at St. John’s Vocational School Portarlington for a number of years -he was a pure Gentleman and a pleasure to work with.

May all your good deeds be rewarded in Heaven Niall - I can just imagine you teaching or organising some activity up there.

May your kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

Very sad to read of Niall'S passing he was a scholarly gentleman in every sense. We occasionally encountered each other on raidio na Gaeltachta.

So sorry to hear of Niall’s sudden passing. He was a joy to work with at world meeting in prep for Pope Francis visit. What a dedicated volunteer and a true gentleman. Many’s the cup of tea we had in the office kitchen...May he rest in peace. i learned with great sadness the death of Niall. A true gentleman and wonderful teacher. He offered me great advice and support on my appointment as Ptincipal of St. Aengus Post Primary School. A true friend and great companion.

Rest in peace Mr McElwaine so many wonderful memories of my time in the vocational school. Carried on right through life being friends great chats at different meeting and always the gentleman each year at the senior citizens annual party who never left with a thank you. Rest easy in the bed of heaven. Sincer condolences to Mrs McElwaine and all your family and friends.
